A 10 year old single malt from Macallan in Speyside, selected by Michael Martin, former Speaker of the House of Commons. It is bottled at 40% ABV and was matured in sherry oak.
The label carries bagpipes and the tune Fair Young Mary, reflecting Martin's own interests, and the bottle has the classic old Macallan shape.
The nose offers raisins, figs and dates with gentle wood spice and a little honey and vanilla. The palate is silky, with toffee, vanilla, a touch of orange zest and light tannins. The finish is soft and sweet, with dried fruit and spice.
