The Macallan – The Harmony Collection Inspired by Phoenix Honey Orchid Tea (70cl, 43.9%)

A Highland single malt from The Macallan, part of The Harmony Collection and made in collaboration with JING Tea. It is inspired by JING's Phoenix Honey Orchid, a tea with dessert wine aromas and exotic fruit notes, and is bottled at 43.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Most of the whisky matured in sherry-seasoned American oak, which gave fruity and floral flavours. Sherry-seasoned European oak adds roasted richness and a touch of astringency, and a small share of ex-bourbon casks adds sweetness. The colour is warm honey. The nose is summery peach and apricot with floral honey, tropical fruit, toffee and sweet oak. The palate has peaches in rich syrup, warm citrus and toffee, ending in a delicate leafy astringency.
