The Macallan Time : Space Sherry Cask is a 20 year old single malt from Speyside, bottled at 44.8%. It is the third chapter in the series marking 200 years of the distillery, and the first Macallan matured in casks seasoned with its own Valdespino sherry from Jerez de la Frontera.
A selection of 200 casks gave the whisky its natural mahogany colour. It comes in a circular glass decanter.
The nose offers sherried raisins, figs, frangipane, dark chocolate truffle, cinnamon and star anise. On the palate come dates, ginger cake, dark treacle toffee, chocolate-covered cherries and warm cloves. The finish is long, with warming wood spice and a touch of espresso.
