The Maltman Secret Islay is a 12 year old Islay single malt, finished in Amarone wine casks and bottled in 70cl.
It opens with the classic peaty smoke of Islay, then the Amarone finish adds a sweeter side of dried fruit.
The smoke is likened to a bonfire on a beach, followed by dark cherries, plums and a hint of chocolate. The finish is warm, with some spice, and it lingers.
