The Matsui The Peated is a Japanese single malt from the Kurayoshi Distillery in Tottori, bottled at 48%. It is distilled with spring water from the mountains around Mount Daisen and matured in oak casks.
The bottle and box carry the woodblock print The Great Wave off Kanagawa.
The nose shows light peat smoke, citrus, vanilla and soft wood. The palate offers fresh peat, honey, malt and spice with a subtle sweetness. The finish is medium in length, smoky and elegant.
