This is a 12 year old Japanese blended whisky at 43% ABV. It combines malt and grain whiskies from Nikka's two distilleries, Yoichi and Miyagikyo, and every component is at least 12 years old. The Yoichi malt is described as robust and peaty, the Miyagikyo as fruity and delicate.
The bottle design is inspired by the neckline of a kimono.
The nose offers praline, honeycomb and juicy barley, with cinnamon, fig rolls, green apple and crème brûlée. The palate is rich and rounded, with honey on cinnamon toast, sultanas, raisin fudge and vanilla custard. The finish is long, with sweet spice, dried fruit, creamy vanilla oak and a faint touch of sooty smoke.
