The Pogues Single Malt Whiskey is an Irish single malt that came out of the collaboration between the band The Pogues and West Cork Distillers. It was released in mid-2019 alongside a blend, and bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle without added colouring.
Frank McHardy developed it. It is made from fully malted barley, matured in bourbon casks and produced in small batches.
The nose is lightly savoury, with toasted seeds, caramel brittle, chocolate-covered peanuts and a faint violet sweet note. On the palate come light wood spice and cinnamon, then nougat, marshmallow and strong malt, with vanilla and toasted oak behind. The finish is medium in length, soft and bittersweet.
