The Representative Barrel Proof Bourbon (75cl, 58.3%)

The Representative Barrel Proof is a bourbon distilled at MGP in Lawrenceburg, Indiana and bottled by Proof and Wood in Bardstown, Kentucky. It is bottled at cask strength without chill filtration, at around 57.25 to 58.25% in a 75cl bottle. The mashbill is 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley, and the whiskey went into barrels at 120 proof and aged for at least four years. Each batch blends about 20 barrels. The brand calls the four years "2 Congressional Terms", in keeping with its political theme. The nose is chocolate chip cookie, vanilla and caramel with dried strawberries. The palate is vanilla and cherry-peach, then browned butter, blackberry and pecans. The finish is long and syrupy, with peppery spice and licorice root.
