The Shin Malt Whisky 15 Year Old Mizunara Japanese Oak Finish (75cl, 48%)

This is a 15 year old Japanese malt whisky, The Shin, finished in casks made from Mizunara, Japanese oak. Ken Usami, master blender of Shinobu Distillery, selected the malts. It is natural in colour, non-chill-filtered and bottled at 48% ABV in a 75cl bottle. Shin means integrity, one of the core principles of Samurai tradition. The whisky balances the woody flavour and sandalwood incense of Mizunara oak with bold, aged maltiness. The nose brings pronounced oak, dark ripe fruit such as blueberry, and cinnamon. The palate is sweet and malty with sandalwood-like wood and layers of spice, leaving a little pepper and spice behind.
