The Shin Mizunara Oak Finish is a Japanese blended whisky made from malt and grain whiskies. It was aged in ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks, then finished in Japanese Mizunara oak. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
Master Distiller Ken Usami created the blend for a smooth texture, a sweet vanilla aroma and a sandalwood note from the Mizunara. The name Shin refers to integrity, a core value of the samurai tradition.
The nose offers vanilla, caramel and light fruit. The palate brings gentle sweetness, toasted bread, cinnamon and nutmeg, and the finish is woody with an oriental sandalwood aroma.
