The Shinobu 10 Year Old is a lightly peated Japanese pure malt, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was matured for more than ten years in sherry and bourbon hogsheads, then finished in Japanese Mizunara oak. It is bottled without chill-filtration or added colour.
The peat brings seaweed and smoky notes. The nose is honeyed, with chocolate, dry grass and bonfire smoke, while the palate offers caramel, coffee and gentle smoke, then seaweed and vanilla. The finish is long and smooth, with salted caramel.
