The Shinobu 15 Year Old is a Japanese whisky bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is made by selecting whiskies from different distilleries, which are first held in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks and then finished in Japanese Mizunara oak. The nose is led by fresh oak, with a touch of vanilla and florals that bring to mind nectar. The palate is fruity, with citrus, Mizunara oak and coffee beans, and it returns to a sweet aftertaste of maltose.
