Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye 2017 (75cl)

Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye is a straight rye whiskey from Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, Kentucky. This is the 2017 release, one of five annual bottlings in the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. It is bottled uncut and unfiltered, at the strength the barrels reached naturally, in a 750ml bottle. The name honours Thomas H. Handy, a New Orleans bar owner credited with popularising the Sazerac cocktail. The nose brings toffee, fig cake, candied fruit and warm rye spice. Cinnamon, clove, dark fruit and caramel run through the palate, and the finish is long and warming, with allspice, coconut and nutmeg.
