Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye 2020 is a straight rye whiskey from Buffalo Trace, one of the 2020 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection releases. It is uncut and unfiltered, at 64.5% ABV, in a 75cl bottle.
The barrels were filled in spring 2014 and drawn from Warehouses K, M and N, giving a whisky of six years and two months.
The nose is bold and spiced, with cinnamon, clove and dark chocolate over an underlying sweetness. The palate has strong rye character, with spice, dark chocolate and candied fruit, and a warmth that builds. The finish is long, with cinnamon, oak and lingering rye heat.
