Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye 2021 (75cl)

Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye is a Kentucky straight rye from Buffalo Trace, the 2021 annual release in the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. It is bottled at cask strength, uncut and unfiltered, in a 750ml bottle. The name honours the proprietor of the Sazerac Coffee House in New Orleans in the late 1800s, who is credited with popularising the Sazerac cocktail. Tasting notes describe bold rye spice, dried fruit, caramel and vanilla on the nose. The palate is full, with rye grain, dark fruit and brown sugar, and the finish is long, with pepper, cinnamon and rye spice.
