Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye 2023 (75cl, 62.5%)

Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye 2023 is a Kentucky straight rye from Buffalo Trace, the 2023 annual release in the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. It is bottled at cask strength, 62.45% ABV, uncut and unfiltered, in a 75cl bottle. The name honours Thomas H. Handy, who ran the Sazerac Coffee House in New Orleans in the late 19th century and is credited with popularising the Sazerac cocktail. The nose is bold with rye spice, dried fruit, caramel and vanilla. On the palate come rye grain, dark fruit, brown sugar and warming spice, followed by a long finish of pepper, cinnamon and rye spice.
