The name comes from the frightened field mouse in Robert Burns's poem To a Mouse, though this whisky is not meant for the timid. The palate opens with a spicy edge, then turns fruity and soft, with sugar and vanilla. The finish is subtle yet sweet, with an oaky quality and a late note of meringue.
