Tincup Straight Bourbon is a high-rye straight bourbon in a 750ml bottle at 40% ABV. The bourbon was distilled at MGP in Indiana from a mash of 64% corn, 32% rye and 4% malted barley, then blended in Colorado with a small portion of Colorado single malt whiskey. It is reduced to bottling strength with Rocky Mountain spring water in Denver.
Citrus zest, sweet grain, cinnamon, ginger and toasted oak mark the nose, with a little leather beneath. The palate brings vanilla, caramel, butterscotch and apple butter, then tobacco leaf, rye spice and dry oak. The finish is medium and dry, with baking spice and a faint wisp of smoke.
