Togouchi 15 Year Old is a Japanese blended whisky made from Scottish malt and Canadian grain whiskies, which are blended, matured and bottled in Japan. Malt whisky makes up about 20% of the blend.
It was aged for 15 years in bourbon barrels, kept in a former railway tunnel around 70km from the Sakurao Distillery, where the air stays cool and humid. The blend was made by Sakurao Distillery.
The nose offers yellow fruits, dried apricot, green apple, vanilla and citrus oil, with gentle sweet spice. The palate is smooth, with dark chocolate, toasted hazelnuts, soft oak and orchard fruit. The finish is light, with vanilla and spice lingering.
