Togouchi 18 Year (70cl, 43.8%)

Togouchi 18 Year is a Japanese blended whisky from Chugoku Jozo, made from Scottish malt whisky and Canadian grain whisky. It is bottled at 43.8% in a 70cl bottle. It spends its 18 years maturing in a disused railway tunnel, 361 metres long, in the mountains of the Togouchi region. The tunnel holds a steady 14°C and 80% humidity throughout the year. Ripe fruit, honey and toffee lead the nose, with light smoke. The palate is soft and sweet, with caramel, spice and a little citrus, and the finish is long, with sweet and spicy notes, gentle smoke and oak.
