Togouchi Beer Cask Finish is a blended whisky bottled at 40% ABV in a 50cl bottle. Its finishing casks have an unusual history: oak first used to mature rum in Martinique was then used for IPA beer in France, before being filled with Togouchi whisky.
The whisky is a light golden colour. Hop freshness and bitterness from the IPA, honey from the rum and a roasted-apple sweetness from the finish blend together.
The nose is youthful with a slight peat note, then sweet honey, nuts and corn flakes. The palate is light and mild, with grain and honey sweetness. The finish stays slightly peaty.
