Togouchi Hiroshima Japanese Blended Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Togouchi Hiroshima is a Japanese blended whisky from the Sakurao distillery in Hatsukaichi, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The blend combines malt and grain whiskies, all distilled at Sakurao and matured in two places: a warehouse on the coast and a 361-metre tunnel in the mountains of the former Togouchi town. This limited edition is finished in red wine casks previously used by a winery in Hiroshima Prefecture. The nose shows strawberry, berry chocolate, honey and nuts. The palate is light and smooth, with bitter chocolate, candy and honey. The finish brings gentle caramel bitterness, a hint of peat and a lactic acidity.
