Togouchi Japanese Blended Whisky Beer Cask Finish (70cl)

A Japanese blended whisky from Togouchi, finished in a beer cask and bottled in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited release. The finishing cask has an unusual history. The oak first held rum in Martinique, then was used for IPA in France, before being used to finish the whisky. The hop character of the IPA, the honey of the rum and a roasted-apple sweetness from the wood are said to sit together. The spirit is smooth and lightly spicy, with notes of malt, light citrus fruit and gentle hops.
