Togouchi Peated (40%)

Togouchi Peated is a Japanese whisky made from peated malted barley at the Sakurao distillery. It is lightly peated, matured in bourbon barrels and non-chill-filtered, bottled at 40% ABV. The whisky is first aged at the distillery itself, then moved into an old railway tunnel in the Osorakan mountain, where the temperature is steady and suits maturation. The nose is peaty, with malt, apple and orange. The palate is round and soft, with black pepper, salt and pear, leading to a lively finish with sweet peat notes.
