Tokinoka Black is a Japanese blended whisky from the White Oak Distillery of Eigashima Shuzo, made from equal parts malt and grain whisky. The components matured in ex-bourbon, sherry and new oak casks. After blending, the whisky was finished in former sake casks.
This limited edition of 1,500 bottles is bottled at 50% in a 50cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour.
The nose offers malt, grain and puffed rice, with rye bread, pear, melon and plum, floral freshness, and pepper and ginger. The palate is round and rich, with ripe yellow fruit, orange, grapefruit, vanilla, warming spice and a light smoky note. The long finish is soft and fruity.
