Traveller Blend No. 40 is a blended American whiskey made as a collaboration between the musician Chris Stapleton and Buffalo Trace Distillery Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley. It is bottled at 45% ABV in a 75cl-style 750ml bottle.
Over 50 different blends were sampled before Blend No. 40 was chosen as the final combination.
The nose is typically described as vanilla, aged fruit and buttery shortbread, with caramel and a touch of oak. On the palate there is a little sweetness, then spice, toasted nut and oak, leading to a robust finish.
