Uncle Nearest 1856 Premium Aged Whiskey (75cl, 50%)

Uncle Nearest 1856 is a Tennessee whiskey in a 75cl bottle, bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof). It is a blend of whiskeys aged between 8 and 14 years, charcoal-mellowed in the Tennessee tradition and bottled at the Nearest Green Distillery in Shelbyville. Master Blender Victoria Eady Butler, a fifth-generation descendant of Nearest Green, is responsible for the blend. The brand honours Nathan 'Nearest' Green, the enslaved distiller who taught Jack Daniel to make whiskey and is recognised as the first known African-American master distiller. The nose brings baled hay, pumpkin seeds, ripe stone fruit and caramel corn. The palate is bold and spicy before settling into sweet caramel and maple, and the long, rich finish stays sweet, with vanilla lingering once the spice fades.
