Undisclosed Islay 2009 14 Year Old Coasts & Shores (Berry Bros & Rudd) (70cl, 55.6%)

This is a single cask Islay single malt from an undisclosed distillery, distilled in 2009 and matured for 14 years in a hogshead. Berry Bros. & Rudd bottled it in 2024 for its Coasts & Shores selection, at 55.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The cask gave 307 bottles, and the whisky is non-chill-filtered with no added colouring. The nose combines crisp bacon with dense peat smoke. On the palate, layers of lemon peel set a bright contrast against strong smoke. The finish is long, with salty coastal freshness and faint notes of rubber and coal.
