It dates from the Van Winkle family's independent bottling era, before the modern Pappy Van Winkle programme began, and comes from the same wheated mashbill that later became Pappy Van Winkle. After 16 years of maturation it is described as rich and caramel-forward, with soft wheat sweetness and fully integrated oak.
