This is an American single malt from Virginia Distillery Company in Lovingston, Virginia, bottled at 46.5% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery works with North American malted barley and spring water, and distils in copper pots hand-forged in Scotland. The whisky is chill-filtered and has no added colour. It matures in first-fill bourbon casks and finishes in casks that previously held cider, Calvados and Laird's Apple Brandy, a combination that brings out fruit. The nose is fruity, with apple and a touch of sweetness. The palate balances fruit with light spice, and the finish is long and fresh with subtle wood.
