Virginia Distillery Port Cask Reserve Single Malt (70cl, 46.5%)

This is an American single malt from Virginia Distillery Company, made from 100% malted barley and bottled at 46.5% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured first in first-fill ex-bourbon casks. The whisky is then finished in tawny port casks together with port-style wine casks sourced in Virginia. It is made entirely from the distillery's own spirit. The nose offers honeycomb, gingerbread, strawberry, red cherry and toasted walnut. On the palate come ripe strawberry, dried cherry and cranberry, then cocoa, toffee and oak. The finish is medium-long, with berries, dark chocolate, cinnamon and clove.
