This is an American single malt from Virginia Distillery Company in Lovingston, Virginia, bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof) in a 700ml bottle. It is made from 100% malted barley.
The whisky spent more than five years in ex-bourbon barrels, then a further eight to ten months in barrels that held Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout. It comes from just twenty barrels and belongs to the Brewer's Coalition series of limited editions.
The nose offers brown sugar, roasted coffee beans, honeycomb and molasses. The palate is malty and sweet, with mocha, dark chocolate, nougat, hazelnuts, citrus and cinnamon. The finish is long, with molasses, bitter dark chocolate and warm espresso tones.
