W.D. O'Connell 10 Years Old is an Irish single grain whiskey from batch 5, bottled at 48% ABV. It was distilled at Cooley Distillery and matured for at least ten years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, with a rye cask component adding a spiced note. Vanilla, caramel and honey mark the grain character, followed by a lively, spicy oak finish from the rye. The nose offers juicy pear, cedar shavings, ripe cherry and pecans. On the palate come walnuts, pecans, green peppercorns, ground cardamom and vanilla, leading to a warm, oily finish.
