W.L. Weller Antique 107 (75cl, 53.5%)

A wheated Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace, bottled at 107 proof, or 53.5% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. It is the highest-proof expression in the standard Weller range. The recipe uses wheat in place of rye as the secondary grain after corn, a style first associated with William Larue Weller in the 19th century. This gives a softer, richer character than high-rye bourbons at a similar strength. Collectors often call it OWA. The nose combines caramel, vanilla, dried apricot and warm baking spice. The palate is full and concentrated, with caramel, toffee, soft wheat and gentle oak, and the finish is long and warming with caramel and spice.
