W.L. Weller Millennium is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, made to commemorate the millennium and bottled at the turn of the year 2000.
Wheat takes the place of rye as the secondary grain in the mash bill, an approach that goes back to William Larue Weller in 1849. Buffalo Trace acquired the W.L. Weller label in 1999 and makes the Van Winkle bourbons from the same wheated mashbill family.
