Bannow Island Edition 1.2 is an Irish single malt from Waterford, made only from Irish barley grown on a single farm, Bannow Island Farm. It is the second bottling from that farm's barley. The whisky was distilled in week 25 of 2016 and bottled in July 2020, with an outturn of 9,000 bottles. More than 30% of it matured in first-fill American oak, the rest in virgin oak, French wine casks and ex-vin doux casks. The nose offers malt, ripe pear, raisins, flowers, apple and marzipan. The palate is fruity, with honey, caramel and a peppery touch, leading to a long, oily finish with a spicy note.
