Waterford Biodynamic Luna 1.1 is an Irish single malt made only from local biodynamic barley, following the lunar cycles. It is described as the first Irish single malt made in this way. The barley comes from three biodynamic growers: Trevor Harris, John McDonnell and Alan Mooney. The whisky is matured in a combination of casks: 35% first-fill American oak, 17% virgin American oak, 26% premium French oak and 22% Vin Doux Naturel oak. It belongs to Waterford's single farm approach, in which each farm's barley is malted separately before it reaches the distillery.
