Waterford – Single Farm Origin Hook Head Edition 1.1 (70cl, 50%)

This is an Irish single malt from Waterford Distillery, and the first Waterford bottling made with barley from Hook Head Farm. It was distilled in the sixth week of 2017 and bottled in February 2021, at 50% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured in a mix of first-fill bourbon, virgin oak, ex-Margaux, sherry and Marsala casks. The nose combines malt with lemon zest, white pepper and salted popcorn. The palate opens with clove, pepper and liquorice, followed by caramel, biscuits and citrus, and the finish is dry and spicy.
