West Cork 5 Year Old Pot Still Whiskey (70cl, 43%)

West Cork 5 Year Old is an Irish single pot still whiskey, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It matured for five years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks. The mash combines malted and unmalted barley, and the spirit is triple distilled in the Rocket Still, a fast pot still that West Cork Distillers developed and built itself. The whiskey is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose brings hay, fresh-cut grass, sweet pear and caramel, with dried plum behind. On the palate come barley and malt, with vanilla and black pepper. The finish leaves a sweetness reminiscent of candy floss.
