West Cork – Black Cask (70cl, 40%)

This is a blended Irish whiskey from West Cork, finished in double charred bourbon casks. The casks were charred to Char #5 level. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The finish in heavily charred wood adds a toasted oak character. The nose combines vanilla, toasted oak, caramel, brown sugar and a hint of smoke from the char. The palate is warm and full, with toffee, burnt sugar, soft spices, lightly roasted malt and subtle tropical hints from the bourbon barrels. The finish is medium to long, with dry oak, toast, caramel and a soft smoky note.
