West Cork Blended Irish Whiskey Stout Cask Finish (70cl, 40%)

This is a blended Irish whiskey from West Cork, made from 75% grain and 25% malt whiskey and triple distilled. It matured first in first-fill Bourbon barrels, then in casks that previously held stout from Black's of Kinsale. It is bottled at 40%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The Bourbon casks add creamy vanilla and fruit, while the stout finish brings chocolate, coffee and malty, hoppy notes. The nose has chocolate, raisins and freshly cracked nuts, with sweet vanilla, fresh fruit and perhaps a hint of grapefruit. The palate combines dark chocolate, coffee and creamy vanilla with pears, floral notes and a little hops, and a full body. The finish keeps chocolate and roasted coffee, with ginger spice.
