West Cork Glengarriff Series Peat Charred Cask (70cl, 43%)

A single malt Irish whiskey from West Cork Distillers, part of the Glengarriff Series, in a 70cl bottle at 43%. A selected single malt is re-finished in casks whose insides have been hand-charred with peat from the Glengarriff Forest, which gives it a peat smoke character. The nose is mild and smoky, with sweet malt, vanilla, toasted oak and a hint of green apple. The palate has soft peat smoke, honey, light spices, caramel, toasted grains and subtle oak. The finish is medium long, smoky and sweet, with light ash, toffee and pepper.
