West Cork Maritime 5 Year Old Port Cask (70cl, 43%)

This is a five-year-old Irish single malt from West Cork Distillers, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The whisky matured in first-fill bourbon casks and was then finished in port casks from Quinta da Boeira. It belongs to the Maritime series, which nods to the distillery's coastal setting, and the bottle is modelled on historic fishing floats. The nose brings dates, raisins and dark berries with creamy vanilla and a touch of pepper. The palate is fruity and sweet, with apricot, prunes, lively citrus and roasted nuts. The finish is soft, with vanilla, light wood and fine pepper.
