West Cork Maritime Calvados Cask is a triple-distilled Irish single malt from West Cork Distillers, part of a limited edition. It is matured in first-fill bourbon casks and then finished in Calvados casks from the house of Garnier. Bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, it is not chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
Fresh apple and white pear lead the nose, with almond, vanilla, caramelised sugar and a hint of lemon balm. On the palate there is gentle maltiness, rich dried fruit, creamy vanilla and almond alongside jasmine, nutmeg and pale grapes. The finish is long, with toffee sweetness, fruity and floral notes, fine wood spice and a touch of white pepper.
