West Cork Maritime Port Cask Single Malt Irish Whiskey (70cl, 46%)

This is a triple distilled Irish single malt from West Cork, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It began its maturation in first fill bourbon casks of American white oak and was then finished in Quinta da Boeira port casks. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The rounded bottle is modelled on the glass floats once used to keep fishing nets afloat, a nod to the distillery's founders, who were fishermen. The nose brings sweet toffee, bourbon vanilla and dried fruit, with a little nutmeg and green pepper. On the palate there are ripe apricots, pale grapes and blackberries, with a touch of citrus and oak spice. The finish is medium in length, with honey, vanilla and soft wood.
