West Cork Maritime Sherry Cask (70cl, 46%)

A triple-distilled Irish single malt from West Cork Distillers, made in small batches from malted Irish barley and Mullaghmesha water. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour. The whiskey matured first in first-fill bourbon casks, then was finished in sherry casks from Bodegas Barón. The round, hand-blown bottle reflects the founders' maritime background, and its offset spout is meant to make pouring gentler. Prune, fig, sherry and vanilla mark the nose. The palate opens sweet and turns steadily drier and spicier, and the finish stays dry and spiced.
