West Cork Rum Cask (Maritime Release) (70cl, 46%)

This is a triple distilled Irish single malt from West Cork Distillers, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle with a distinctive bulbous shape. It is the Maritime Release. The whisky was matured in traditional casks and then finished in Caribbean rum casks, which add a warmer sweetness and an exotic touch. The nose combines soft vanilla, light tropical fruit, brown sugar and a gentle rum sweetness. On the palate come honey, soft spices, caramel, and hints of pineapple and dried fruit. The finish is medium to long and softly sweet, with light rum notes.
