West Cork Single Malt Calvados Cask Finish (70cl, 43%)

This Irish single malt from West Cork belongs to the Cask Finish collection. It is made from malted Irish barley and water from the Mullaghmesha Mountains, and it is triple distilled. The whiskey spends at least three years in first-fill bourbon casks, then a further six months in Calvados casks from the French house Garnier. The malts are then married and rest together for 72 hours before bottling at 43% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colouring. The nose shows fresh apples and white pears with a hint of almond. On the palate, dried fruit meets vanilla and almonds. The finish keeps fruity notes, vanilla and a soft nuttiness.
