West Cork Single Malt Virgin Oak Cask Finish is an Irish single malt from the Cask Finish Collection, made in small batches from Irish malted barley and water from Mullaghmesha Mountain. It is triple distilled and bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtering or added colour.
The whiskey first matured in first-fill bourbon casks, then was finished in new oak casks from Kelvin Cooperage.
The nose offers hay, oak shavings, sawdust and vanilla, with ripe pear, creamy vanilla and a light peppery edge. On the palate it is light and fruity, with ripe pears, sweet oranges, ginger and strong oak, and black pepper towards the end. The finish is medium, with tropical fruit and light, fresh citrus.
