Westland Sherry Wood is an American single malt from the Seattle-based Westland distillery, which was named Craft Producer of the Year at the Icons of Whisky in 2016.
It is matured in casks that previously held Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry.
The nose recalls honey-dipped oatmeal raisin cookies, with maple syrup over banana pancakes. The palate opens with kiwi, maple and raisin syrup, then moves through sweet pastries and cookies that grow richer and darker, ending on stewed yellow fruits.
